ABOUT THE ARTIST
Leah Foote lives in Clarksville, Tennessee with her husband, John. They have two grown sons and four grandchildren. After retiring from a career in education, she returned to painting and studied watercolor. This challenging medium has become a consuming passion. She says, "As a result of my art, I find that I view the world differently now and am more appreciative of every day beauty in my surroundings than before. " Joining the Downtown Artists' Co-op in Clarksville paved the way to develop friendships and creative synthesis with artists and art lovers in the area. She is also a member of the 2 Rivers Painters and the Tennessee Watercolor Societies. |
"For me, creating art is all about the journey: either finding something of interest and then trying to interpret its appealing essence on paper or creating a non-representational piece where the only constraints are conveying emotion and applying the principles of design. If others look at my completed work and connect with it in some way, that’s a huge reward."
